Types of text files

There are three types of text files:
1. Plain text. 

2. Rich text. 

3. Hyper text. 

Using Text in Multimedia

1. Titles and Heading (What is).
2. Menus (where to go).
3. Navigation’s (How to go).
4. Contents (what you see is what you get).

Rules for designing Text

1. Avoid Decorations when there is minimum size.
2. Ransom Note Typography. (Using many fonts on screen / page).
3. Vary size of font according to the importance of message / text.
4. Use proper spacing.
5. Use proper effects.
6. Use proper background. 

Symbols:

Symbols are concentrated text in the form of standalone graphic constructs. They used to convey meaningful information. In multimedia we treat symbols as visual words. 

Icons:

Those things that represent objects and process are known as icon.
